AN APPEAL TO EMPLOYERS . , .:,;.: .URGED ' (By Telegraph—Press Association) DUNEDIN,. This Day. The Trades and Labour Council committee handling unemployment, interviewed Mr James Fletcher of the Fletcher Construction Company, following which a wire was sent the Minister of Labour as under: "Have approached Fletcher to make provision for the absorption of .the unemployed, at the new fertiliser works., The result is an undertaking to' co-operate with district Council of Labour to place fifty unemploved within a fortnight. We eonsider that the Government should roake a general appeal to employers to follow this lead.
