MERGER NEGOTIATIONS

COLOGNE, 22nd March. The "Gazette" forecasts the amalgamation of the Hamburg-America and North Gorman Lloyd lines, the basis of merging interests to be for the next 50 years. Ea'cli company will remain independent, vessels sailing under their own Hags, but as many as possible from each company to be placed on important routes eliminating the building of new vessels and enabling the development of new routes, diminishing expenditure on Unprofitable routes. Receipts will be equally divided.
