ALLEGED SHEEP-STEALING

DUNEDIN, 21st March
Gilbert William Lewis, a young farmer at Springvalo, near Alexandra, was arrested on Thursday evening and charged at Alexandra this morning before Justices with the theft of 20 sheep at Springvale on 10th March, the property of Edward J. lies, of Cliatto Creek. The accused was remanded to appear before a Magistrate at Alexandra on 10th April. Bail was granted in. accused's own recognisance of £SOO and two sureties of £.250 each.
