BOYS IN STOLEN CAR
POLICE STATION INCIDENT

AUCKLAND, 22nd March. On Thursday night a constable recognised a small car driven by two hoys as one reported stolen. As they did not heed his order to stop he jumped on the car and took charge and had it driven to the police station. The boys were left in a room for a moment while the constable consulted the sergeant in charge. When he returned lie saw one of the boys in the act of drinking from a bottle, the contents of which was poisonous. He snatched the bottle from the boy's hand and rushed him to hospital, where he is now recovering. , He will later be brought before the Children's Court.
