DEPARTURE OF CITY OF NEW YORK
BYRD SAILING AFTER THE ELEANOR BOLIJNG

DUNEDIN, 23rd March. The Byrd expedition ship, City of New York, sailed for New York at 3.10 p.m. to-day, being towed to sea by the tug Dunedin. Her departure was watched by a large crowd, and she was escorted to the heads by a fleet of small craft. Rear-Admiral Byrd will leave New Zealand by the mail steamer after the Eleanor Boiling sails, her departure being fixed for next Sunday.
