WAIMEA CRICKET ASSOCIATION

EXECUTIVE MEETING

At an executive meeting of the Waimea Cricket Association, held in the Public Hall, Brighlwater, the president, Mr J. Fowler, was in the chair and the following delegates were present: Messrs E. Duncan, M. Hawkes, R. Davies, H. Beuke and the secretary (W. Max). After a discussion on the advisability of playing a third round in the competition it was decided on the motion of Messrs H. Beuke and R. Davies that no third round be played. It was resolved On the motion of the President and Mr E. Duncan that the Brightwater juniors be allotted three points on Hie unfinished game with Belgrove on 11th January and also that a third round for. juniors be started, the games to be decided on one half-day's play and if no decision in the time, the match be continued at a later date.

NEWMAN SHIELD AND "K" CUP

It was decided to leave all arrangements in regard to the Newman Shield and "K" Cup competitions in the hands of the secretary.

FIXTURES The following fixtures were decided upon: — Ist Feb.: Upper Moutere v. Dovedale, at Dovedale. Bth Feb.: Possible v. Probable, at Brighlwater. 22nd Feb.: Upper Moutere v. Brightwater, at Brightwater. The following are the fixtures for the Junior third round:—

15th Feb.: Wakefield v. Belgrove, at Wakefield (unfinished game); Brightwater v. Dovedale, at Brightwater. 22nd Feb.: Wakefield v. Brightwater, at Wakefield; Belgrove v. Dovedale, at Dovedale.

29th Feb.: Wakefield v. Dovedale, at Dovedale; Brightwater v. Belgrove, at Belgrove. < Ist March: Wakefield v. Belgrove, at Wakefield.

"K" CUP TEAM

The following players have been selected to represent Waimea v. Tapawera for the "K" Cup:—H. Griffith (capt.), L. Thomason, I. Hawkes, F. Burnett, J. Hildvard. S. Irvine, A. Baigent, W, Baigent," K. Newth, B. Griffith, ; C. Loveridge. Emergencies: E. Baigent and A. Burnett. The hours of play will be 9.30 a.m. till 6.30 p.m. Cars leave the Brightwater Hotel at 8.15 a.m. sharp. Any player unable to play is requested to communicate with the sec rotary immediately.
