REGENT THEATRE: ANOTHER BIG BILL

To-night at the Regent Theatre Lon Chaney makes his final screen appearance in. “West of Zanzibar,” voted his greatest of pictures. To-morrow two special attractions are announced to commence at the matinee. The first, “The Call of the Heart,” will introduce Universal’s wonder dog “Dynamite,” tlie greatest canine actor on the screen. Dynamite is said to be at his best in this picture of the trials and tribulations of a young girl and her brother, orphans, who are trying to carve a homestead out, of the wide reaches of the western plains. The story is full of the human interest element, and Basil' Dickey, the author, has woven into the plot his marvellous understanding of tlie working of the canine mind. Also in the plot is a portrayal of the bitter war which was raged by cattle ranchers against the inroads of the despised homesteaders, who were contemptuously designated by the terms “Sncozevs” and “Nestors.” Joan Aklen, who' plays (he leading feminine role is a winsome heroine, while Maurice Murphy, tlie brother, is most appealing. The second feature stars Phyllis Haver in a. thrilling romance of .New York society life entitled “Tenth Avenue,” which has been enormously successful as a screen production. The plans are at the Regent Confectionery Stall and the Hicaire’ bv ’phone 1102.
