ALLEGED THEFT
ACCUSED REMANDED ON. BAIL

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Described as an ex-leader of unemployed in Christchurch, a man whose name was suppressed pleaded not guilty this morning to a charge of stealing £l6, the property of a Christchurch organisation of unemployed. The accused was remanded till Monday next, bail being allowed. His' counsel said that .the prosecution was probably a spiteful one and the outcome of dissension among the unemployed. , , Magistrate Mosley : “Better let the facts speak for themselves. The question is whether the~man is guilty.”
