At. the annual meeting of the Stoke Progressive a letter was read from the Minister of Public Works staling that the. Government had decided to vest the Waterworks Reserve in (be Waimea .County Council provided a sufficient supply of water was supplied to the Mental Hospital. A copy of the rural mail delivery, regulations j which had been forwarded by the. chief postmaster was read and considered, and it was resolved on the motion of Messrs Malison and Pickup that the chief postmaster lie thanked for his information and that he be informed that the Association considered that a. rural delivery was not suitable for Stoke. It was resolved, on the motion of Messrs Heath and Powell, that the County Council bo written to asking them to re-install the lights on the main road. The .following officers were elected for the coining year: President, Mr Mac-malio-n; vice president, Mr Pickup, secretary, Mr Tale; committee, Messrs Heath, Lawry and Biggar.
