AUCKLAND, Ist Dec.
Burnt to the water’s edge, a 26-feet fishing launch filled and sank in deep vat or off Tiritiri Island yesterday morning. The sole occupant was Mr Jack Sanderson, of Brighton road. Parnell. Ho escaped in a dinghy to the launch: Whetu, which had picked up Mr Sanderson’s launch on Tuesday in a crippled condition. , The owner had got the engines running again, and was making ready his breakfast, preparatory to making port, when the oil stove exploded.
