CHILD STRANGLED
HEAD CAUGHT IN A WINDOW (United Preßs Association) NAPIER, Ist December. Dorothy T.evland Green, aged 5£ years, ’met her death yesterday ' afternoon in somewhat unusual circumstances. She was left at.home alone, and when her mother returned at 5 o’clock she found her hanging with her head caught in a window. Apparently the child mounted a block, and, put her head out of the window, which was open only five ;or six inches, and when tho .block rhoved - from under her feet her head became caught, and she was strangled. Deceased was an only, child. V NAPIER, This Day. At the inouest on Dorothy Leykmd Green (51) the evidence disclosed* that deceased apparently was endeavouring to gain admittance to the house through a small window which was fastened at varying heights by a bolt slipping into) a hole, and was not weighted. Presumably the child opened the window, but failed to bolt it , properly, and when she had her head through it fell and pinned her there. Death occurred as a result of strangulation and shock.
