AMERICAN STRANGLEHOLD DENIED

(Received Bth June, 11.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Giving evidence before the Royal Commisison on picture shows, Sir Victor Wilson, President, of the Motion Picture Distributors, estimated the capital invested in picture shows in Australia was £25,000,000, and tho annual attendance 150,000,000. He denied that Americans had a strangehold on the industry. There was not tho slightest difficulty in showing good British or Australian films.
