DESTRUCTIVE FIRE
IN VICTORIAN COUNTRY TOWN (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) MELBOURNE, 7th June. A fire destroyed seven residential shops, comprising practically the whole of the main street of Nagambie, 78 miles from Melbourne, causing extensive damage.
BLAZE AT MASTERTON HOSIERY MILL DESTROYED MASTERTON, This Day. A fire late last night gutted the Hosiery and Spinning Company's mills, destroying machinery valued roughly at £SOOO and also a big stock of goods. The origin is unknown, but when discovered the flames had a good hold, making the brigade's task hopeless. About twenty hands were employed, mostly girls.
