As nominations close to-day it was considered hy some delegates that it was too date, but Messrs Caselberg and Hare thought that something should be done to indicate Nelson’s interest .

Mr Kemnilz moved that Nelson nominate Mr Allan Adams, of Creyrnouth. I)r. Caselberg moved an amendment that the other Seddon. Shield unions be communicated with to-morrow requesting them to support Air Adams’s nomination. The amendment was carried. The letter from the New Zealand Management Committee further stated that local selectors should he appointed for the trial games. On the motion of Mr Kenmitz it was resolved that this Onion nominate one selector and the Marlborough and Golden Bay-Motueka Unions be written to asking them each to appoint one selector, the three men thus chosen to pick the trial team to play Duller and West Coast. Air Pdincoe was appointed the Nelson selector.

HOME AND ITOM w MATCH AT MOTUEKA

Mr Estcourt was appointed manager of the Nelson team to visit Motueka. on Saturday next. Several delegates thought that the selectors should bis present at this game and it was finally resolved that provision be made for them to visit Motueka on Saturday.

It was resolved that the secretary obtain quotations from six competitive motor transport firms for conveying the team to Motueka, on Saturday next. a letter from Marlborough asked that the dates previously arranged for the cadet matches he reversed and that the Marlborough cadets play at Nelson as a curtain-raiser to the senior representative game on the 25th Juno and that the return match he played at Blenheim on 9th July. This was agreed to. A letter was 1 (.-reived from the Marlborough Union about the home and homo matches, stating that they had agreed that the dinners to visiting teams be dispensed with and suggesting that dances he substituted. This suggestion was received favourably and the secretary was ins-wucted 1.. make arrangements.

Complaint was made that a number of spectators wore on the side lines last Saturday and that children were playing around the goal posts. It was resolved that two stewards be appended from the cumin.tue to enforce the rule that no spectators or officials he allowed on the side lines.

'The secretary reported that the gate, at Trafalgar Park last Saturday was £l6 16s.

The current account of the Union was reported by the chairman to be £l7O, odd in credit.

Dr. Caselberg again referred to the possibility of arranging a tour with the unions next year. It was resolved that North Otago and South Canterbury letters be written to these unions accordingly also pointing out the proximity of the West Coast for a first match. Mr Kenmitz said that he would prefer to see a touring district constituted amongst the five Seddon Shield unions and moved accordingly. Dr. Caselberg considered that the public would much rather see outside unions visilinsr Nelson. Mr Estcourt was against a tour in the South Island and thought it would be better to arrange reciprocal visits with some of the unions in the southern portion ol the South Island. He did not think this Union could afford an expensive three week’s return tour right down to Oamaru. An amendment to Mr Aemnitz’s motion was defeated and it was resolved to write to the Seddon Shield unions asking their opinion of the suggested touring scheme. Auer other minor matters had been dealt with the meeting closed.
