Licensees had been put by the committee in the same position ns they were in previously. in regard to appeals to liiis effect, a new elau.se. had been inserted its follows: "All licenses and tidier limber cutting rights hereby validated .shall hereafter be administered by the Coin missionin' of State Forests, as if they were granted under the principal act, and all references therein to the warden, shall he construed as i-eferenees to the Commissioner, provided Hint the holder of any such license or other limber (lilting rights shall have, the same right ol appeal (if any) against any decision of the Commissioner as lie would have had against a like decision of the warden.” j Another new clause had also been inserted, providing that any application for renewal made after I lie expiration of the certificate of reservation sliould not lie granted unless the. Commissioner was satisfied that, failure to apply within the, specified time was due to inadvertence, mistake or accident. The lime had been reduced from three months to two months. | With reference to a question asked by , tlie Leader of the Opposition (Me Hoi-, land), as to whether local bodies were likely to lose any of their revenues, Mrj Hocklv stated that, the Lands Committee had been informed that, 'hose would j not he interfered with and that they! would be the same as previously.
