DISTRESS AMONG BRITISH MINERS
(To the Editor) Sir, —In the Mail of 16th inst. you have a paragraph giving some information re the New Zealand contribution to the Distress Fund. In response to a request by the British coal miners, £2OOO is all that New Zealand has contributed . I am sure if you opened a list and would accept contributions that Nelson would raise a goodly sum for such a good cause. We have, before us the splendid contribution of the. Russians and the Prince of Wales, and I am sure that all the liberty-loving people of Nelson would follow such splendid example.—l am, etc., J. A. CARDNO.
