Turkey telegraphed the International Court that the t !overmneut sees no reason for attending Sir Douglass said Britain regretted the absence of Turkish iepresentatives because it was embarrassing to be deprived of Turkey’s Mosul arguments. Britain contended that the Treaty of •Lausanne clearly stipulated that in the event of an Anglo-Turkish dispute regarding the Iraq frontier the League Council's decision should be binding.
