FUNERAL OF PRESIDENT EBERT

BERLIN, March 4
When the funeral procession of Ebert winded the thronged streets, decorated in black and Republican col-, ours and halted at the steps .of .-the Reichstag, the crowd of 200,000 silently and reverently listened to a funeral oration by Loebe, president of'.' the Reichstag. The cortege, which was seemingly interminable. was accompanied by Reichswelir, police and bands. The hearse was followed by coaches laden with wreaths. Tile cortege proceeded to the railway station, whence the body was taken to Heidelberg for interment, which will be made at a simple ceremony .to-morrow near the grave of Ebert’s father and mother. BERLIN, March 5 With a' police band .playing “Deutsclilanderubcr alios,” President Ebert was buried in Heidelberg in the presence of huge crowds. Berlin traffic was stopped for five minutes as a mark of respect.
