TROUBLE DUE TO EGYPTIAN AGITATORS
(Published in The Times.) LONDON, August 15. The Times Cairo correspondent states that undoubtedly recent events in the Soudan were deliberately timed to coincide with the pourparlers for the meeting between Mr MacDonald and Zaglilul. The latter’s followers aimed at proving that the Soudanese supported Egypt’s contention that the Soudan wanted to rejoin Egypt. Egyptian agitators provided funds for the agitators, some of whom openly boasted of the success of their efforts to stir up the Soudanese. These Egyptain agitators had practically a clear field, yet. almost the only people who responded were the rabble, who were always ready to fish in troubled waters, also a certain number of immature student youths who fell victims to the agitators. Dtherwise tho population of the Soudan holds aloof.
