Admiral de Robeck will complete, his half century’s service to-morrow, when lie will haul down his flag as commander of the Atlantic fleet.
LONDON, August 15. The Daily News’ naval correspondent points out that when Admiral de Robeck hauls down his flag on 11.M.5. Elizabeth, the Atlantic fleet takes second place to the Mediterranean fleet, based at Malta in accordance with the policy which will enable all the strongest ships of the Navy to be concentrated at the Pacific gateway within a fortnight. Whether it will be possible to- maintain them there without the Singapore base is a question on which the Government and the Naval advisers have apparently agreed to differ.
