DR. WARRINER’S VISIT
GATHERING OF MUSICIANS Members of the Nelson Professional Musicians’ Association and friends, to the number of between 20 and 30 accepted the Council’s invitation to meet Dr. 'Warriner, who is at present in Nelson in connection with the Trinity College examinations. The meeting took place in the library of the Marsden Church House last nigh’t. The president, Mrs Macfarlahe, introduced Dr, Warriner, who in the course of the evening had something interesting and instructive to say about? nervousness —its causes and cure. In respoiiSe to a question, ho also explained the reason of the rather limited success of registration in tho Old Country. ‘As the New Zealand Bill is a separate (one for teachers of music, and does not deal with teachers of all subjects ab at Home, registration when it comes into force will not labour under the same disadvantages. The doctor also gave an account of the work of Trinity College as an examining- body. Mr Tait proposed a vote of thanks to Dr; Warriner, which was seconded by Mr Claughton, and carried by acclamation. Supper, and the singing of the National Anthem, brought a most enjoyable evening to a close.
