“HANDS UP!”
IN MELBOURNE A CARD PARTY SURPRISED (By Eleotrio Telegraph.—Copyright.; (Australian and N.iS. Cable Association., MELBOURNE, This Day. A private party composed of seven men were playing cards and amusing themselves m various ways on Sunday night, when four masked men armed with revolvers entered the room and ordered all to put their hands up. They then searched persons and premises, seized money ana jewellery and riches valued at over £2OO, and escaped in a motor car. The police arrived a few minutes later. Up to the present there have been no arrests. The bandits missed a valuable diamond ring which the owner managed to drop down the •back of his neck. Another stuffed £IOO in large notes into his mouth and saved them.
