DOING MAGNIFICIENT WORK li\\ \ LEST FOR GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY (By Telegraph—Special to Mail) WELLINGTON, June 16 Dr Tillyard gave a most interesting address on orchard pests before tho Dominion Fruitgrower’s Conference yesterday, and lie received an unanimous vote of appreciation. Mr H. Atmore, M.P., who has been attending the conference by invitation, suggested that the vote of thanks should receive tho addition of a strong request for the Government to annually subsidise the Cawthron Institute to the exlent of £2OOO in view of the magnificent work of a national nature it was doing for the fanners and the fruitgrowers of the Dominion. This was enthusiastically agreed to by the conference, and Urn motion passed in that form.
