A NOTED SCIENTIST. (Reuter's Telegrams.) '(Bee. July 24, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 23. Obituary : Sir "William Bamsay, the scientist. (Sir William Ramsay, K.C.8., F.R-.5., has distinguished himself by researches into the constituents of the air ; in eonjunction with Lord Rayleigh he discovered argon. Besides discovering helium, he also detected iu the air the unknown elements to which he has given the Greek names of neon, krypton, and xenon. Ee was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, ISC4. He was President of the 'British Association in 1911. In his Presidential Address he ga'.e warning as to the limit of coal supplies. He resigned the Chair of Chemistry at London University iu January, 1912.)"--
