LONDON, March 7. _ A Flying Corps- base is being established at "Dover at a cost of £45,000. Mr Winston Churchill hasi decided to obtain. an airman's certificate, necessitating a flight alone. MISHAP TO HAWKER. SYDNEY, March 8. When Hawker was descending from a Height of 7000 feefc at Albury, the engine stopped 100 feet from the ground and the machine dived sharply. The machine was damaged, but Hawker escaped uninjured. SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT BY 'SCOT,. LAND. CHRISTCHURCH, March: ?'. Scotland made a successful ascent in the Caudron biplane from the Addington show [grounds yesterday afternoon in the presence< of 4000 people. The aviator went up tp ,10tA> feet, and gave a, fine exhibition, 'landing ~ safely.
