wairiiu WEST. ROAD BOARD. The ordinary meeting of the Waimea West Road Board was held on Tuesday, March sth. The following members were present: Messrs . JV'-i Palmer (Chairman), <3.'Stalker,i and J. \V. Satherley. Two letters were received from the Under-Secretary of the I?ubl\c Works Department re the grant" alt .Redwood's Valley.—Resolved that the? Board could not erect a bridge with the amount granted, but would apply, to the Minister of Public Works to have the amount placed upon the Estimates for the improvement of the road. The Secretary was instructed to apply to tlie- Comity Council for a contribution towards the cost of the filling at the font of the Moutere Hills. It was resolved that owners of property be' asked t<> cut fences at the corners of roads. Complaints were made re stock straying on tile roads, and the Chajrman, Mr Ford, and the Overseer, were!j appointed to inspect the pound 'and -lEi&ve necessary repairs done. The Overseer reported that the road in Eves' Valley required, some, ruts filling in, and that' the new road at Redwood's Valiey was formed .-.and ready for gravelling; that lev.ellijvg of banks near J. O'Connor's property had been d-vne; and that gravelling" had .been done in various places. Accounts amounting to £22 5s 2d were passed for payment. .
