PARTY DISSENSIONS. CHANCE OF PASSING MORE REMOTE. (Received June 23 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK. Thursday. "Western Republicans in the Senate are developing 1 bitter opposition t'o Canadian reciprocity. Six, in rapid succession, declared that before reciprocity was allowed, the Senate must agree to the other Tariff Revision Bills, including wool. Mr_ Root explained his amendment, which Mr. Mann bitterly opposed, holding it a violation, of the reciprocity agreement. Mr. Gore's resolution. Instructing the '.Finance 'Committee to report the Woo] Tiiriu" Bill back to the Senate in July was carried by 39 to IS. The result of this vote is to disrupt, the combination of senators favourable to reciprocity. It is now admitted rV.nt the Canadian Hill's chances of passing are more remote.
