ABUSE OF THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT.
"A MENAGERIE OF INCOMPETENTS." "A HALO OF HUMBUG." (Received 9.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Tuesday. Mr Burgoyne, connected with ftbe English Tariff Reform League, wh 0 is on a visit to Australia, speaking at the annual meeting of the Imperial Federation League, said that the British Government at present formed a menagerie of incompetents. The members of it were angels of incompetence,, crowned with a halo of sanctimonious humbug. He .only wished that the Mother Country thought as well of the colonies as the colonies thought of the Mother Country. There was no doubt that colonials thought twice as well of Englishmen as Englishmen thought of colonials. : - •)' *P?
