INSPECTION OF ORCHARDS
ACTION BY MOTtJEKA FRUITGROWERS. At a meeting of the Motueka Fruitcrowers Co-operative Society, held on Monday last, the matter of the Government Orchard Inspectors, and their relations with fruitgrowers was fully disoiwased.. . , The meeting was of opinion that tne InsDectors could be of the greatest aa sistance to the growers, provided they went, about their business in a tactiu manner and had the confidence of the community. It was resolved —"That the secretary write to the Agricultural Department asking that a permanent inspector be annotated for Motueka and surrounding districts : that the Fruitgrowers Society be permitted to submit the name of an inspector to the Department for approval: and that the appointed inspector make a regular monthly report to the Society, which report to be public property, and if necessaiy to be published in the local newspapers." . Tt was decided" to forward copies of tho resolution to the member for the district and to the press.
