Mr J. C. Blackmore, Government Pomologist. left Nelson for tho West Coast on Saturday. He will spend some time on the Coast delivering lecturcsr on fruitgrowing- , -, _ Tho treatment of the fruit trees m Toi Toi Valley is now in the hands of Messrs Hallam and Rabbits, Orchard Inspectors. The trees are being effectively pruned, circumstances guiding the quantity of wood to bo taken out, and a really KOod job is now being mado with tho trees. The householders arS co-operating with the Inspectors, they recognising that their trees, though in some cases heavily thinned, will stall give them plenty of fruit. It is intended to put on two pumps to spray the trees in the Valley.
