THE TROTTING RACES.
The Nelson Trotting Club will hold its annual race meeting at Richmond Park on Wednesday next, and the indications are that the meeting will be the most successful yet held by the Club. The acceptances are eminently satisfactory, and large fields should be tho order of the day. The Mayor has requested citizens to observe a public holiday from noon on Wednesday. A special railway timetable has been arranged for race day, trains being timed to leave Nelson and Richmond at convenient times. The Nelson Rugby Union arc holding a gymkhana and open-air concc't in aid of their funds on Wednesday, 19th inst, and it should prove attractive.-
