MADAME CLAEA BUTT.

THE NELSON CONCERT. Madame Clara Butt, England's great contralto, Mr Kennerley Rumford, and their complete concert party, will arrive from Wellington on Monday next, and will give a concert at the Theatre Royal on Tuesday, 18th February, under the direction of Messrs J. and N. Tait. The booking for this concert is a record for Nelson, but for those desirous -of— reserving their seats a limited number are now available. Positively only one concert will be given in Nelson, as the time at the disposal of Madame Butt is too limited to permit of a second concert, and the party will leave on Thursday, 20th iiist., for Blenheim. Madame Clara Butt and Mr Kennerley Rumford are singers in' the zenith of their fame, They have been brought out to Australia and New Zealand by Messrs Tait, and the fees to be paid are said to be the largest ever given, to a visiting star, amounting to considerably over £15,000. Up to the present Madame Butt's New Zealand tour is attracting ne largest audiences ever known, and the enthusiasm displayed in every instance is remarkable. Mr Kennerley Rumford, who is one of the most artistic baritone singers in England, shares with his wife great popularity with the audiences. Messrs Tait announce to-day that extra rows of halfguinea seats are now available at Mr Bolton's, where the box plan is on view.
