THE CHRISTCHURCH ATTEMPTED MURDER.

CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. James Smithers, one of the principals in tho Moorhouse Avenue sensation on April sth, appeared at the Magistrate's Court thid morning before Mr G. V. Day, S.M., in answer to a charge of having attempted to murder Nellie Jackson. The Chief Detective stated that Mrs Jackson was still unfit to attend at the Court. The accused, when charged, said, " Tdon't remember anything about it." He was remanded for one week.
