WOOLLEN MANUFACTURERS & COMPETITION
A SECRET CONFERENCE AT CHRISTCHURCH. (United Press Association.) CITRISTciiuRCH. Wednoe. A conference of woollen manufacturers of New 'Zealand was held yesterday in th<? KaiapoL Co.'s promises. The meeting . was private, and strictly confined to representatives of firms directly concerned. It is understood that proposaJs were discussed for modifying the excessive competition among colonialmanufactures in woollen poods. It stated in a Wellington wire that the meeting had 'been convened by the Dunedin manufacturers, but the impression here is that the initiative was really taken by the Kaiapoi Company.
