CANADA'S FUTURE MARKETS. THE EVOLUTION OF IMPERIAL FEDERATION.
(Received Dec. 1, 9.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, Friday. Earl Grey, Governor-General of Canada, speaking nt Toronto, said that before long the Dominion farmers would look to the Orient as a market for their produce. Canadians would be able to develop their nationality because they were safe within the Crown's protecting circle. The English people knew that when the appointed time arrived tho Canadians would assume Imperial obligations. This feeling of self-respect would produce a system of Imperial federation, the autonomous colonies joining Britain ns equal partnership for the discharge of Imperial responsibilities and obligations. -
