THE GOVERNOR IN NELSON.
Lord and Lady Glasgow and suite paid I a surprise visit to Nelson to-day arriving ( this morning in the new Government steamer Tutanekai. The vice-regal party i came ashore this afternoon from the stoa- - iner, which is lying out in midstream, and drove up to town from the Port. •It is understood His Excollency will stay in Nelson over Christmas and goon to the West Coast. As the visit is an unofficial ine thero was no reception ceremony, indeed everyone was taken by surpriso by tho distinguished visitors. No doubt everything will bo done to make His Excellency's visit a pleasant one, so that on leaving N. Z. as ho shortly will be doing Lord and Lady Glasgow will have pleasant recollections of Nelson. Lord Glasgow will attend morning service at tho Cathedral to-morrow.
