Cheistchukoh, Ootober 15. | The Premier and Mrs Ballance arrived this morning. A large number of friends waited on him at his hotel Mr Taylor, [ M.H.R., had an interview with him, tbe j object being' to put in circulation the money voted to Canterbury. The Knights of I Labour waited on him with a similar request, I He promised to see what oould be done. This afternoon a deputation from the Eduoa« tion Board will wait on him respecting a grant for sohool building's. The Premier will attend a banquet in honour of the Agent-General this evening, when it is expeoted that the Governor, Mr Rolleston, and Sir John Hall will also be present.
