(From our own Correspondent.) R__fto_", October 13. Mining matters have a distinctly improved turn this week. The Big River i a on a rich solid reef. The Nil. Desperandum has struck a rich patch, supposed to be the old Hercules reef which was good for over 20oz to the ton some years ago. The Lone Star at Boatman's havo cut their reef in tlie level, exactly where it was calculated, and 4 feet thick. The Globe has now got through all the poor stone, aud will show better results in future. The Venus ia giving letter returns, and tbo block is now proved about 260 feot. Besides this eeveral of the claims which are now only prospecting are looking very promising.
