Week-End Petrol
WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.)-The order restricting week-end petrol sales to supplies required in cases of emergency is to be revoked as from Monday. Notice of this is given in the Gazette published last evening. Under this’ order petrol could only be obtained on Saturdays and Sundays to complete a journey of more than 100 miles, to’ make a journey as a matter of unexpected urgency on account of death, illness or business, and for use under the authority of a licence to ply for hire.
It was also necessary for emergency stations to keep a register of those urgent sales, which had to be signed by the vendor and Ihe purchaser of the petrol.
