Matter For Petrol Sellers To Decide
WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.).—The New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association, commenting on the revoking of the regulation governing the weekend sale of motor spirits, says a decision as to the position on Saturday mornings will be a matter for petrol resellers in each district. No relaxation has been allowed in petrol rationing and this is being continued on the same basis as previous-
ly. As resellers will be called on to pay penal rates of wages for Saturday morning work without any corresponding increase in return, and also because of staffing difficulties, it is unlikely that there will be much extension of the present hours of sales by service statiops. (REVOKED PAGE 8)
Greek Army Costs ATHENS, Thu.—The Prime Minister (M. Diomedes) announced that the Government had decided to reduce the Greek Army, now at a strength of 210,000, by 50,000 men. The reduction would be carried out in stages.
