U.S. Will Not Assist Spain
WASHINGTON, Fri. The Senate today rejected an amendment to provide $50,000,000 of Marshall Plan funds for Spain. Senator P. McCarran, who moved the amendment, said the United States should grasp the opportunity of securing the friendship of Spain “to stand with us in the battle that is just in the offing. “We should strengthen every loophope in the fight against Communism.”
