Daffodil Society
Arrangements for the Whangarei Daffodil Society’s show to be held next month were discussed at the annual meeting of the society. Provision of teas and luncheons at the show was approved, while it was also decided to have a trading table. A' junior section will be included for the first time this year with a full prize range, and the society is looking forward to excellent patronage in this as well as other classes. The treasurer (Mrs J. A. Inkster) reported a healthy financial state, as the society held a credit of £65 after making several donations. The retiring president (Mr R. H. Allan) congratulated the society on a highly successful year. Officers elected were: Patron, the Rev. T. H. Burton; president, Mr H. G. Carruth; vice-presidents, Mesdames M. L. Sands and H. R. Sloane; secretary, Mrs H. G. Carruth; treasurer, Mrs J. A. Inkster; committee, Mesdames W. W. Logan, L. V. Willcocks, W. M. Fraser, R. H. Allan, A. Rogers, R. E. McCracken, Misses A. Drummond, F. M. Rickard, M. Maddren, Messrs R. H. Allan, H. Jones.
