Sun Spot Activity Is Disappearing
WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.).—The highly-active sun spot activity which appeared in the eastern hemisphere of the sun last week is disappearing round its western rim, and should have disappeared by the week-end. said the director of the Carter Observatory (Mr I. L. Thomsen) today. “We have not yet been able to make a proper evaluation of the radio upset resulting from this activity as all necessary reports are not yet to hand,” he said, “but it has not been as severe as expected.” Post and telegraph Department radio technicians reported today that radio conditions returned yesterday to normal.
