The urgency of the need for a ladies’ ‘rest room in Whnngarei was stressed by Mrs L. Pointon at the monthly meeting of the Whangarei Residents and Ratepayers’ Association last night. “Evidently the excuse is that the council is awaiting a permit and the development of Harrison's Block,” she said. ‘‘We women are waiting too!” Mr C. J. Homer, who is chairman of the council’s parks committee, said the development of Harrison’s Block was not holding up the project. The matter had been approved by the council and passed into the hands of the health committee to obtain plans. Mrs Pointon moved that the association take up the matter with the local bodies concerned This was carried.
