Beakers To Seek Higher Breod Price
WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.). An application for an increase in the price of bread is expected to be lodged early next week with the Price Tribunal. It will be a fortnight or three weeks after that before the application is heard. An official of the New Zealand Master Bakers’ Federation said in Wellington today that all bakers felt that some adjustment to the price was long overdue. It is not known what form any increase, if granted, would take. It might be an increase in the price of the loaf or a reduction in the price of flour.
