Australians To Use S.A. Scrum
SYDNEY. Fri. 0.30 p.m.t— Australian Rugby Union forwards are experimenting with the South African scrummaging formation which they will adopt on the lour of New Zealand. The acting-manager and former international forward, W. Cerutti, who practised with the team, said: “If the South Africans can use it, there is no reason why we can’t.” The breakaways will pack in at an angle of 45 degrees, giving added protection to the half and also concentrating weight in the centre of the scrum.
