Morbidly Happy'
ST LOUIS, Wed. ill a.m.).— Socialised medicine had transformed New Zealanders into virtual hypochondriacs, said Dr Henry W. Turner, who described himself as New Zealand’s only osteopath. Dr Turner, 36, is in St Louis for the annual convention - of the American Osteopathic Association. He said New Zealand's population was morbidly happy in dreaming up new imaginery ailments.
Doctors and druggists were making at least twice as much money as they did before socialised medicine was introduced in 1936, and there was no desire to return to the old system.
