Maoris Seemed To Be Tired, Stiff
SYDNEY, Tue. Q. 30 p.m.).— "The Queensland Rugby Union team provided the shock of the season by going down by only five points to the Maoris," says Phil Tresidder in the Sydney Daily Telegraph. "Queensland surprised by outplaying the Maoris for most of the match. “It was a reversal of form because twice last month New South Wales beat Queensland by 30-point margins. “The Maoris were lucky to win. “Though 10 of Saturday’s test men played in the Queensland game, the Maoris could not produce their best form. “They appeared tired and stiff from Saturday’s gruelling match. “The diminutive winger, J Fogarty, was the star of the game.” In the Sydney Morning Herald, Frank ’ Tierney says that the Maoris gave an unimpressive display and that similar form in the third test would ensure an easy win for Austr<DESCBIPTION OF GAME.—P. 3.)
