Advocates 1/- Sub. To Secure Members
The annual subscription of the Whangarei District Progresive Society should be 1/- or 2/- a year in the opinion of the president (Mr J. P. Johnson). At a meeting last night he said he would submit a notice of motion to this effect at the next meeting, and move the resolution at the annual meeting. Mr Johnson said the Blockhouse Bay Development Association in Auckland had a subscription fee of 1/- a year and had 3000 members. When- the subscription was higher it had very few members. “We want numerical rather than monetary support.” he added. The secretary (Mr W. R. Vallance) said that, of the present membership of 115, 80 members paid subscriptions, which brought in £2O a year to the society.
