Unable To Supply Many Revolvers
CANBERRA. Wed. (1 p.m.)—Private firms and individuals in Malaya are able to buy in Australia only a small proportion of the revolvers and ammunition they require to protect themselves against Communist terrorists.
There is an acute shortage of revolvers in Australia.
The Customs Department has approved applications from 40 persons and interests for revolvers totalling many hundreds, but the applicants have been able to obtain only 160 revolvers and a few rifles. One firm which received permission to buy 1700 has been able to buy only 100. , »
